This fantastic massive brooch is really a sculpture in jewelry. Glass beads of yellow, jade and orange petals and leaves are hand-wired interspersed with various colorful floral elements bursting forth from a large orange vase with handles and feet. Three flowers are mounted on coils and tremble at the slightest movement - all mounted on a gunmetal frame. 3 1/2" x 4 1/2". This is "the" book piece (not "a" book piece) shown in Judith Miller's, Costume Jewelry on page 180 and purchased from Cristobal of London. Larry Vrba began designing for Miriam Haskell in the 1970s; his designs kept the company's jewelry fashionable while many other costume jewelry designers were closing their doors. In the 1980s he began designing jewelry under his own name. Mark: Lawrence Vrba Condition: Excellent Home to Glitterbug Vintage Jewelry |
